Energy Efficient Lighting
LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) have revolutionised energy-efficient lighting. LED bulbs produce light differently from traditional incandescent bulbs. While old-fashioned incandescent bulbs passed electricity through a filament, LEDs produce light through the use of a semi-conductor that emits light energy when an electrical current is passed through it.
BENEFITS OF ENERGY EFFICIENT LIGHTING
LEDs are the most energy efficient bulbs. Unlike halogen and CFLs, LEDS use 90% less energy
LEDs can last up to 5 times longer depending on usage
LEDs produce light at the flick of a switch, no waiting with a dim light
LEDs do not create heat build-up
LEDs may be initially expensive but the costs can quickly be re-couped through energy savings
